On Gratitude

Gratitude. More aware of what you have than what you don't. Recognizing the treasure in the simple-a child's hug, fertile soil, a golden sunset. Relishing in the comfort of the common-a warm bed, a hot meal, a clean shirt.

Mini-Adventure: Half Moon Cay, St. Thomas & St. John

Revel in the beauty around you. Appreciate the new people you meet, the beautiful things you see and the great adventures you have. Sharing pictures from my travels is like a daily gratitude exercise.  It reminds me to be grateful of the beauty I've experienced and hopefully inspires you to do the same.

Revel in Transitions & Travel

Last month I left my job and went on two amazing trips. When you're in transition, peace of mind is a blessing. My travels were exactly what I needed. They restored my soul, distracted me from my worries, and made me incredibly happy. I was present. I didn't have enough time in the day to plan and worry about my future or regret my past. I was too busy living and feeling content. Traveling gave me the gift of joy and perspective.

Whatever phase of life you're in, whatever decisions you're in the middle of, whatever worries you may have, make time for a break, experience something new, and come back with fresh eyes.

In my next few posts I'll be sharing photos from my trips.

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween! This is a great holiday to get creative and celebrate. In the spirit of Halloween, I handmade this card below. It's my version of a grown-up Halloween card that's reminiscent of a childhood favorite. The inside should read: On this day, eat too much candy, dress up in a ridiculous costume and have more fun than you've had in a while.
